Despite a slight drop in the 1st Quarter of 2016, sales prices in our county continue to trend upward. With an average sales price of over $250,000 in the 1st quarter, I expect the market to correct upwards. The 1st quarter (Jan-Mar) was plagued with bad weather and generally slow conditions, but we have been experiencing a robust 2nd quarter so far.
Interestingly, average sale price for 4 bedroom homes continue to bring more demand and better pricing. Homeowners with "loft" type rooms or open spaces on the 2nd level should consider turning that space into a 4th bedroom. Consulting a few contractors for estimates always makes sense and can be a wise investment.
